Florence – Cady Hill Forest, Stowe, VT

Kiss my grits! - Florence - Cady Hill Stowe

On our stop in Stowe, we rode the Cady Hill Forest trails for a couple hours. My favorite trail was definitely Florence, or Flo for short. There is an upper and lower section. They are both great, but the lower is probably the better of the two. If you bermed up flow trails with lots of jumps this is for you.

Part of our trip to Bhutan this year included bookending a few days in Kathmandu. My wife has been Kathmandu a couple of times before and always had good memories of her time there. Now I will get to see what she was talking about. We flew into Kathmandu via Emirates Airlines from Newark, NJ …

Trekking the Dolomites – Part I – Tres Cime

The Dolomites has been on our hit list for some time. For some reason it just keeps getting pushed off. Well this year we decided, relatively last-minute, to hit it. My wife did all the booking of Rifugio’s with some help from her friend who had done this trip some time ago. I worked on …

The Steelman Triathlon at Lake Nockamixon is one of my favorite triathlons. It is a local race, but is so well done it has that big-name race feel to it. Dale Winteroff has run the race for a number of years and does an outstanding job. I missed doing this race a number of years …

Race Report – 2018 Ironman Lake Placid

Ironman Lake Placid was my “A” races of the 2018 season. It was the perfect climax to my 5th IM finish as I turn 50 at the end of this year. It was also the 20th anniversary for IMLP and 40 years for Ironman as well. There was a lot of significant things that were all coming together. It would also be my last Iron-distance race.
